Catechism Class before Baptism
Interested in Baptism?
We are excited to celebrate Easter Sunday with baptisms again this year! Baptism is a presence-filled Sacrament and means of grace that has been given to us by Jesus. It is an embodied way of denouncing your old way of life and being raised to a new life in Christ and his family. In some ways, it marks the conscious beginning of your discipleship to Jesus.
On Sunday, March 29, we will host a catechism class for those preparing to be baptized.
Easter Egg Hunt
We are going to have a small easter egg hunt for all of the kids and families of Emmaus, right after our gathering on Sunday, March 29th. Everyone is welcome, bring your own picnic lunch for you and your crew, and join us for some fun.
We have plenty of eggs, but would appreciate donations of candy and other egg stuffers over the coming weeks - please drop them off in the community room.
Rolling Roads Free Health Fair
Emmaus will be hosting a Free Health Fair for the Rolling Roads Neighborhood in partnership with some nurses from the Interactive Resource Center and UNCG. They will offer basic and mental health screenings, along with other resources for our neighbors, and our house churches will be spreading the word over the coming weeks. Feel free to stop by the church that day if you would like to participate or invite anyone that might benefit from these services.
Chili Cookoff
It's time for our 5th Annual Chili Cookoff on Sunday, March 1st right after the gathering! We've got some great cooks in our community and the competition is always hot. Plan to stay, eat lunch and help us decide the new winner of the golden spoon.
Sign up below if you plan to make a pot, or if you are able to contribute items like cornbread, toppings, and dessert.
Black + Evangelical Documentary Showing
Join us Friday, February 20 at 6:30pm for a movie night in the community room! Together with Christ Wesleyan Church, we will view the film "Black + Evangelical" to learn the histories, contributions, and concerns of our brothers and sisters in Christ. Popcorn and childcare will be provided.
Imposition of Ashes
The Lenten season begins on Wednesday, February 18. As a way to move into this season of repentance, fasting, and reflection, we encourage you to stop by the church between 7 - 8am for the Imposition of Ashes before beginning your day.
Catechism Class for Baptism

It is an embodied way of denouncing your old way of life and being raised to a new life in Christ and his family. In some ways, it marks the conscious beginning of your discipleship to Jesus.
On Sunday, December 14th, right after our gathering, we will host a catechism class for those preparing to be baptized.
5th Sunday Potlock
We are celebrating the holidays together and enjoying our final potluck Sunday for the year on November 30th. Plan to bring a few dishes to share - enough to feed you and your whole crew - and join us after our gathering to enjoy lunch together!
The Waiting Room
At Emmaus we desire to continue seeking the tangible presence of God and have set aside a monthly Friday night prayer space called The Waiting Room. It is in this space and set-aside time that we expect God to speak, and wait in anticipation for him to. Throughout history, it has been a remnant of praying people who sow seeds of renewal and awakening. Come, wait. Come, Holy Spirit. It will open at 6:30 pm.
Glenwood Trunk or Treat
This year, instead of hosting our own Trunk or Treat, we are going to partner with Glenwood Together and help serve during their event on Saturday, October 25 from 4 until 5:30pm at 1417 Glenwood Ave. There are many ways to serve - whether you're able to donate some bags of candy, set up a trunk with some folks from your house church, or just be an extra set of hands during the event - they are expecting a lot of kids, and need our help to show them some love!

Family Meeting
September is a special month for us — a month of vision casting. We will be having a Family Meeting on Sunday, September 28th right after the gathering to pause and remember some values of our community. We have a unique opportunity to align our hearts with what we believe about community, giving, caring for each other and others through the much-needed purchase of a new roof for our building. We are inviting you all to sow into legacy and relationships through this opportunity!
This meeting is open to everyone who attends Emmaus. Childcare will be provided.
